When you think of Indy, what’s the first thing to come to your mind? Probably not a hip fashion scene, right? Our city isn’t exactly known for its fashion community, but much like the Unicorn Frappuccino, it does exist!

One example is Midwest Fashion Week (MFW). Established in 2006, MFW is dedicated to “empowering the creative efforts of the clothing design community while discovering new ways to express individuality and confidence through fashion.” While bringing Midwest fashion to the rest of the world, MFW helped showcase over 300 designers while encouraging expression, talent, and entrepreneurship. Runway shows are hosted every year in Paris, New York, Chicago, and Indianapolis. MFW works with many designers, buyers, and sponsors to maintain its success. Find out more about the background and efforts here.
